Hello friends! Today I’m sharing ideas for styling a cottage farmhouse Thanksgiving table. I used eucalyptus branches, white pumpkins, brass candlesticks, and book bundles tied with twine for a vintage look. This Thanksgiving tablescape is classic and budget friendly! 1. Vintage Finds for a Cottage Farmhouse Thanksgiving
For this tablescape, I focused on staple decor pieces that I already owned. First up, these vintage brass candlesticks I found at Goodwill a while back for just a few dollars. They seemed perfect for a cottage farmhouse Thanksgiving table!
You’ve probably noticed that my Thanksgiving table features another one of my favorite decor items, these DIY book bundles! In my tutorial I shared how you can style these in so many ways, and this is just another option. They add an unexpected and whimsical touch to any tablescape.
Finally, I also used blue vintage books for a pop of color on our Thanksgiving table. Books in a tablescape might seem out of the ordinary, but I needed to fill out the space so I got creative! Don’t be afraid to experiment with unexpected pieces.
2. White Pumpkins and Eucalyptus Branches
For a cottage farmhouse table centerpiece, I used my trio of white pumpkins for the main attraction. You’ve probably noticed them all around our home this fall, and I was happy to style them one more time for Thanksgiving! You could also use gourds or fresh fruit for an inexpensive centerpiece.
To fill out the centerpiece, I styled faux eucalyptus stems (these ones are similar) and baby’s breath from the grocery store around the pumpkins. So easy to do, and I can continue to use the baby’s breath when it dries out!
3. Cottage Farmhouse Table Decor Basics
Let me tell you a secret–these silver plate chargers are from Dollar Tree and only a little over a dollar each. (These similar chargers from Amazon are a bit more but ship faster.) I didn’t have a large budget for Thanksgiving decor, and these offer a pretty but inexpensive solution.
I find that dining rooms can feel a bit stark sometimes, at least mine does. We do not have a rug right now, because toddler life! I would love to add texture with a jute rug in here eventually, but right now Bug colors and plays in this room and rides his cozy coupe around the table 😉 Adding a few throw pillows and a blanket warms up the space and welcomes guests in.
Another way to add warmth to your cottage farmhouse Thanksgiving is with a table runner. But let me tell you another secret–this is actually an inexpensive blanket! Here is something similar. I just folded it in half before laying it on the table.
