Welcome friends! Today I’m excited to share my first room reveal of 2022–my son’s Star Wars bedroom! We are a big fan of the galaxy far, far away in this home. It was so fun to mix the books and toys we already had with some subtle Star Wars decor to bring this space together! I also painted color blocked accent walls, did a LOT of organizing, and swapped out the bed. If you are planning a Star Wars kids’ bedroom for your Padawan, I hope you find this post inspiring. I can’t wait to show you around, so let’s get started on the room reveal!

Star Wars Kids’ Bedroom: The Before

Here are a few photos of Bug’s room back in December. My main goals were to:

  1. Paint the walls. You probably can’t tell in the photos, but the flat gray paint from the builder was so scuffed up and beyond saving.
  2. Replace the bed. I was ready to upgrade the existing metal bed frame and broken headboard.
  3. Organize the Lego sets. We already had the storage system but I wanted to get everything sorted and labeled.
  4. Other small upgrades. Replace the curtains, decorate above the dresser, and add new bedding.

Star Wars Kids’ Bedroom: The Reveal

And here is the after! Let me give you a tour…

Sleep Under the Stars

The inspiration for this galaxy themed corner was the handmade “sleep under the stars” felt pennant flag! I love supporting Etsy sellers, and this piece is just the cutest.

Bug’s existing headboard was broken, so I swapped it for this charcoal upholstered bed. (I have worked with Brookside in the past, but purchased this bed myself.) It is budget friendly, and I like that the mattress sits low without a box spring which is great for kids.

To finish off this nook, I added a star print quilt and styled up the acrylic book ledges (similar) with some of our favorites. The seagrass wall sconce dims for bedtime and adds an organic vibe.

Organized Toys and Star Wars Art

I shared my Lego Storage Ideas post last week, but had to include this wall in the reveal because it might be my favorite! The minimalist Star Wars art is also from Etsy, and the seller offers other characters too. I decided to feature Luke, Rey, and of course, Grogu.

This is also the wall that I color blocked–the paint colors are Cameo White and Greige from the Behr Marquee line. I may end up sharing a post about the color blocking process, so let me know if you would find that helpful.

Keeping with the subtle Star Wars theme, I created a simple gallery wall with three more prints from Etsy sellers. (Endor Forest, Cloud City, ATAT.) They are each fun and unique without screaming Star Wars.

This round rattan wall shelf adds a natural element on this side of the room. It is also reminiscent of the Death Star, and the perfect spot for Star Wars collectibles and plush friends!

Kids’ Desk and Color Blocked Arch

Finally, here is Bug’s Lego building desk! I removed the book ledges and created an arched color block wall. We have had this “I am a Jedi like my father before me” art print since Bug’s nursery, but this one is similar.

We have also had this IKEA FLISAT children’s desk (available here on Amazon) for over a year now and it is the best! The desk and matching bench (Amazon) are both adjustable to grow with your kiddo, and the sides of the desk prevent Lego bricks from falling off. A huge plus when you are tired of stepping on them 😉

I finished off this wall with my favorite cream curtains to add a little coziness, and this room makeover is complete!

Here are some wider views of each side of the room:

I hope you enjoyed the reveal of Bug’s Star Wars kids’ bedroom! This space is much more functional now that everything has a place. It is also our fun escape to a galaxy far, far away as we build Lego sets, read books and cozy up at bedtime. I would love to hear which part of the room is your favorite, or how you have decorated your kids’ rooms! XO,
