Large Letter Monogram Sign for Nursery Wall Decor
To begin, here are the large wall letters in my daughter’s nursery. I knew the monogram would be perfect wall decor, but decided to try styling it on the dresser first.
I especially like the slightly distressed look of the letters that adds dimension and character. Our exact letters are no longer available, but these ones look very similar and come in lots of colors.
I also tried styling the large white letters on top of the bookshelf.
Finally, I decided to style the monogram sign over the bed. It would also be so cute over a crib!
The monogram letters are perfect nursery wall decor. Since they are made of paper, they are safe for over a bed or crib. The similar option I shared is made of foam, which is also lightweight.

Hanging Nursery Wall Letters
How to Hang Paper or Foam Wall Letters
Our letters are lightweight paper mache, so I mounted them with 3M Command picture hanging strips. It was easy to apply the strips to the backs of the letters and press them against the wall.
I began by attaching the center letter, and then pressed the outer letters onto the wall gently, stepping back to check the positioning. I was able to move them a few times until everything looked right, and then pressed them firmly against the wall.
As I mentioned above, our exact wall letters are no longer available, but these fones look very similar and are made of foam. Scroll down for more options!
Nursery Wall Letter Safety
Wall letters, name signs, and monograms are a fun way to add personalized decor to a nursery. However, some products may not be the best for use in a kids room.
When decorating my son’s room several years ago, I purchased a galvanized metal initial for his room, thinking it would be a nice wall accent. However, I ultimately decided not to hang the letter because I felt concerned about the sharp, uneven edges.
Thankfully, there are many wonderful options to choose from that are made of fabric, foam, paper, and lightweight wood. No matter what product you choose, be sure to follow the installation instructions and safely secure the letters to the wall!

In addition to the monogram, I decorated the wall of the nursery with these tree wall decals. Each individual leaf had to be placed by hand–quite a project–but the forest wall turned out so cute!

Designing the nursery has been a healing experience for me. After a miscarriage, and then a challenging pregnancy, I am so thankful to retreat to this peaceful space.
Yes, there have been sleepless nights, long days, and tears all around. There have been times when I felt like I couldn’t handle two kids, and times when I had to reach out for help. But in the quiet moments, when I am holding my girl close in this sweet space, I can only be thankful.
