Can you believe that 2022 is coming to a close? I’ll admit, I am ready to welcome the new year and a few months of calm after the rush of the holidays. But before jumping into 2023, I wanted to take a moment to look back all that we accomplished in 2022 with a roundup of easy DIY project ideas. Let me know in the comments which was your favorite!

Easy DIY Project 1: Remove Glass Shower Doors
My first easy DIY project of the year was to remove our glass shower doors. I always struggled to clean around them, and finally decided to just take them down. I completed this project in one afternoon by myself! Check out the post for tips.
Easy DIY Project 2: Kids’ Room Refresh
Next up was a refresh in my son’s Star Wars bedroom. The space includes subtle Star Wars decor, color blocked walls, and organized Lego storage. We just did a toy audit before Christmas, and it was so nice to be able to quickly go through the different sets and decide which to keep or donate!
Easy DIY Project 3: Paint IKEA Furniture
Last winter I also painted our IKEA media console. I researched all of the best products to use and it has held up great, which makes me want to try painting our dressers next. Should I go for it?
Easy DIY Project 4: Spray Paint Picture Frame Mats
You all know that I love to use spray paint to refresh decor on a budget. This spring I spray painted picture frame mats for our family photo gallery wall. This easy DIY project completely changed the look and added warmth to the corner of our living room.
Easy DIY Project 5: Install Picture Frame Molding
This spring I also tackled a new skill: using a brad nailer to install wall molding. Our TV wall felt so bare and boring before. Adding DIY picture frame molding made all the difference, and if I can do it, you can too! This is an easy DIY project that does not require a saw. Check out the post for my supply list and installation tips.
Easy DIY Project 6: Primary Bathroom Makeover
Last but certainly not least, this fall I gave our primary bathroom a makeover with paint, picture frame molding (can’t get enough), mirrors, light fixtures and decor. It feels like a completely different bathroom and I actually enjoy getting ready in here now!
What I Didn’t Get To…
There were a few more items on my 2022 Home Projects list that I just didn’t get to this year:
- Create a kids’ library in the loft. I made some progress but want to finish this space in 2023.
- Hire someone to paint the two story entryway. While I have painted most of the rooms in our home, this is one project I am not going to attempt. Hopefully in the new year!
- Add a light fixture to the living room. I still have my eye on something like this modern chandelier and need to just go for it.
- Refresh the guest bathroom. Similar to our primary bathroom, I would like to paint the walls, swap the mirrors and light fixtures, and update decor.
What’s Next for 2023?
I am currently working on my home projects list for the new year and will share soon! I have big dreams to give our kitchen a refresh or maybe replace our carpet, but need to do more research. What easy home projects or upgrades are on your list for 2023? I would love to hear!
