And just like that, it’s the last weekend of October. The leaves are at their peak colors, the skies are dreary (and a little spooky), and I’m sipping a cup of tea. So, it seemed like the perfect day for a leisurely tour of our cozy aesthetic living room.
I kept the fall decor very minimal this year, focusing on an autumn color palette and classic decor that we can enjoy year round. Grab your favorite cozy drink in a mug, and come on in!

Cozy Aesthetic Living Room Refresh
1. Three Arm Chandelier
It has been a while since I updated you about our living room. Last year I did a lot of work in this space, including adding picture frame molding to the wall and updating the furniture. But I still never got around to adding a chandelier.
However, that has changed! I finally purchased the three-arm Mouille chandelier that I had been eyeing for years. I love the modern light fixture paired with the vintage inspired elements of the room, such as the rug, classic patterns, and textiles.
The chandelier provides such a warm and cozy glow in the evenings. The shades are moveable, so I decided to aim them towards the ceiling for soft, ambient lighting.
2. Rattan Media Console
Secondly, I changed up our media console. We used an IKEA TV stand for years and it was such a great piece, but I wanted to try something new.
I passed along the IKEA console to my in-laws, and created an extra long media console out of three rattan cabinets. In addition to the functional storage, I love the cozy aesthetic of the new furniture! It completely changed the vibe of our living room.
3. Rustic Oval Coffee Table
Sometimes, one thing leads to another. I loved our round coffee table but it did not pair well with the rattan cabinets. So, I sold it to a friend and began to hunt for something different.
I ended up purchasing this brushed wood coffee table. This is my first time using an oval shaped coffee table in our space, and I have to say that I really like it! It is more functional for us as everyone can reach the table to set drinks down, and it visually balances the width of the TV console.
I styled the coffee table simply with my favorite design books, an oversized bead garland, and a brass canister for coasters.
4. Cozy Velvet Accent Chairs
After trying the all white furniture look, I began to crave a little more contrast. In addition, I wanted to add another cozy texture to this space.
Enter: brown velvet armchairs. Unfortunately they are out of stock, but I will be sharing a velvet accent chair roundup soon! These chairs are similar.
5. Aesthetic Living Room Rug
Finally, Loloi was kind enough to send me the Amber Lewis Georgie rug in Moss / Bark for our living room. The color palette of brown, beige, and blue-green, plus the vintage aesthetic, pair well with our space.
I moved the sofa for this photo so you can get a better view. This is my favorite type of rug design, with a lattice pattern rather than a medallion in the center. So pretty and versatile!
