Coastal Inspired Living Room with Beachy Blues for Summer
Hello friends! It’s been a while since I have shared new interior photos of our home. I love swapping out pillow covers and decorative accents for an inexpensive refresh of our space. This season, summery hues of blue and gray combined with crisp white linens and seagrass baskets make our summer living room feel light and airy! Summer Ladder Shelf Styling
One of the main ways I refresh our living room is by swapping out decor on our ladder shelf. You can see autumn here, and Christmas here!

To refresh our living room for summer, I mixed neutral and blue coffee table books. Anytime you see old books in my decor, you can safely assume they are from the thrift store! Check out the hardback section while thrifting and remove the dust jackets to see what color lies beneath.
In addition, the stackable seagrass baskets are from IKEA, and the blue accented vase is from TJ Maxx / Homegoods. I love how the pops of soft blue and teal add a summer vibe to this space.
Coastal Inspired Living Room Artwork and Bookcase
I refreshed this side of the room with a new painting, also from TJ Maxx. This one is similar! Lately I feel drawn to coastal artwork–you can almost feel the refreshing, salty beach breeze. At the same time, the soft color palette and impressionistic style will work for any season.
Secondly, all of the bookshelf decor are pieces I already had! Here are some similar vases and greenery.
Below you can also see our TV! I usually shy away from showing it, but enjoy seeing how other people style their TVs. After searching for a coastal farmhouse TV stand, we settled on this one from Target in “natural aged brown.” My only complaint is that the wood has the slightest green undertones in certain lighting, but overall I love the color and storage.
Coastal Inspired Living Room Pillows and Throw
As I have mentioned before, one of the most budget-friendly ways to update a living room is with pillow covers! Almost all of ours are from H&M and are very affordable, often under five dollars. For summer I like teals and grays with a crisp white pattern thrown in. The striped throw was from Target–I pulled it from our guest room to use here because stripes just feel summery and clean to me.
