In our house, the front door opens to our staircase. Against the staircase wall, we have always had an entryway table to help make this small space functional. It is also the perfect spot to style some of my favorite things for the holidays.

Whatever you have on hand to add some holiday cheer to your foyer table. I’m all about Christmas decor ideas that look high end, on a budget.

1. Colorful Christmas Console Table Decor
First up, here is how I decorated our entryway table for the holidays this year. In the past I have often gone with neutral color palette, but I decided to do something different.

This dark wood console table is a newer addition to our home, and I was excited to style it for the first time this holiday season. I’ve been loving the look of vintage-inspired, colorful Christmas decor and had to give it a try for myself!
Brightly colored velvet ribbons and honeycomb trees made a big impact, on a budget. I used this 1 inch red velvet ribbon and these paper trees.

Maybe next year I’ll go back to neutral Christmas decorations, but I’m loving this whimsical look right now. One of my favorite things about decorating for the seasons is that you can swap pieces out and do something different each year. A little ribbon goes a long way. What do you think?

2. Christmas Entryway Table with Pine Garland and Mini Trees
Secondly, here is how I styled our Christmas console table last year. For this look, I used neutral tones such as wooden trees and faux greenery to dress up our warm wood entryway table.

One of the most important things to remember is to include decorations with different heights for visual interest. In this case, a tall lamp on one side of the foyer table grounds the look. On the other side of the table, a large vase filled with winter greenery and eucalyptus branches balances things.
(My exact branches are a few years old, but these cedar and eucalyptus stems are similar.)
Since the round mirror is a focal point in the center of the table, I used low profile pieces to fill out the rest of the look. Pine garland layered with more cedar stems made the perfect base, and I sprinkled in small wooden trees (similar) to create a Christmas forest!

This is a cute alternative to a holiday village with houses. You could also use ceramic trees or colorful bottle brush trees for another option.

3. Console Table Decor with Christmas Wreath and a Small Tree
Thirdly, here are some Christmas entryway ideas for a small console table. This is a traditional look with plaid ribbon, a pinecone wreath, and a small Christmas tree in a basket.

This little table sits between our windows and back door in our living room. To dress it up for the holiday season, I hung a faux greenery wreath from the wall art and adorned it with a large bow made out of wired ribbon (similar).
To balance the table lamp, I added three tall iron candlesticks. Finally, I completed the tabletop design with a wooden bowl full of golden bells for a whimsical touch.

The color scheme of this look leans traditional with red berries and plaid ribbon, but you could use neutral or colorful ribbon depending on your home decor! This glitter ribbon is also fun.
Finally, I placed a mini Christmas tree on the floor to fill in the space under the console table. I love the texture of the woven basket!

4. Easy Christmas Foyer Table with Faux Greenery and Neutral Colors
In addition, here is an idea with simple holiday decor and neutral colors. A few years back I styled our entryway table for Christmas with faux greenery and a pair of large bottle brush trees (similar).

The rest of the design consisted of items that can be used at any time of year: a large vase, terracotta bowl, coffee table books, and framed textile (similar). I was definitely craving simplicity that year!
If you prefer minimalist holiday decor, you can’t go wrong with winter greenery. This is an elegant look that can transition easily to winter after the holidays have finished.

5. Christmas Media Console Decor and Artwork
Here is an example of Christmas console table decor for a living room!

A few years ago I styled our IKEA media console with battery operated flameless candles. Next, I balanced the large rattan lamp on the right with two large terracotta planters on the left. Some red faux leaves added a pop of color. My exact leaves are no longer available, but these stems are similar!
Finally, this is a great opportunity to add a festive touch with Frame TV art. (You can actually display artwork on any TV–you do not need The Frame.) If you are more minimalist with your holiday decor, this is an easy way to decorate without using any specific Christmas decor items.

6. Ceramic Houses, Twinkle Lights, and Bottle Brush Trees
Next up for Christmas entryway ideas, consider styling a holiday village! I used ceramic houses (similar) and bottle brush trees in our dining room for a clean look. Finally, a strand of fairy lights adds a touch of Christmas magic.

This would be a perfect design for a fireplace mantel as well. Be sure to include houses and trees of varied height for visual interest. I also love these wooden houses!
Target carries these little faux trees every year and they are some of my go to holiday decorations. In the past I have gone with neutral bottle brush trees, but lately I’m seeing brightly colored trees that are so cute!

Bonus idea: Create a simple dining room table centerpiece using these same items in a woven tray! This makes your village easy to move when it is time for Christmas dinner parties and game nights.
7. Farmhouse Christmas Console Table Decor with Cedar Branches
Finally, here are some Christmas console table ideas for a rustic farmhouse look.

Several years ago, I used real cedar Christmas tree clippings to adorn our entryway! You can also see how I styled some of my ceramic houses in a different way, and completed the look with a string of lights.
Other statement pieces to include for a rustic look are birch logs, a plaid pillow, or glass lanterns. My exact gold vase is no longer available, but this one is similar!
I always receive questions about this farmhouse console table. It was constructed for us by a friend, based on the Ana White rustic X console plans. You can see that our friend changed the design on the bottom of the table a but to include more planks. It was such a special piece to have in our home’s entryway.

Here is a slightly different setup using the same Twas the Night Before Christmas sign (similar)! This time, I paired it with a vintage brass horn and rustic book bundles.
I hope you found this post helpful if you are decorating a console table for Christmas! Here are some more posts that you may enjoy.
Happy holidays!
