Budget Friendly Powder Room Reveal
I am so pleased with how this bathroom turned out! Here are a few thoughts and details:
The Green Paint
The biggest task in this refresh was painting the walls a muted green to create a fresh yet cozy space. I had originally planned on using Benjamin Moore Intrigue, but ended up going with Behr Village Green in Satin Marquee because it is a one coat color. I always use the Marquee line because the quality is great and it covers so well. In this case, there were a few areas that I went over with a light second coat–being the perfectionist that I am! Satin finish is not very forgiving, and in retrospect I sort of wish I had used eggshell since this is just a powder room so it does not get steamy. In any case, I would recommend lightly going over the whole wall if necessary, to avoid lines! I use this paint roller and this roller frame.
The Faucet and Hardware
Next, I updated the towel ring and toilet paper holder with brushed nickel hardware. I didn’t snap a photo of the toilet paper holder, but you can see it in my Instagram reel! My dad helped me replace our builder grade faucet with this modern brushed nickel faucet–thanks Dad! These changes alone made a such a difference and helped the space feel more custom.
The Decor
The rattan arched mirror was the piece that inspired this budget friendly powder room refresh, and I love the warmth and interest it adds! For the rest of the decor, I was able to recreate several of the higher end pieces from my mood board on a budget. While I loved the McGee and Co art, I knew I could achieve a similar look with printable artwork and standard frames (linked at the bottom of the post). I also found dupes for the hand towel, vase, florals, and hand soap. Overall, I feel that the final look is very similar to the plan! It is always fun to compare the mood board to the finished space:

Such a lovely makeover! The tissue box cover with its unexpected colour really adds charm and interest to the space. Very inspiring.
Can I ask what trim color you used?
Hi Ashley! The trim throughout our house is just white from our builder, I think it is pure white!
Love the bathroom, did you paint the ceiling the same color as well?
Thank you so much Arianne! I did not paint the ceiling, but love the idea of using the same color! My only suggestion would be to use flat finish paint on the ceiling (rather than eggshell or satin).
