What Size Outdoor Rug to Choose
Most of these outdoor rugs come in a variety of sizes. For a small patio or balcony with two accent chairs, a 5×7 rug would be large enough.
However, for an outdoor dining area I would recommend a 7×10 rug (or larger) under a rectangular table. As a rule of thumb for rugs, you want to be able to pull out the chairs and have all of the chair legs remain on the rug.

Here is an example from our patio many years ago. You can see that an 8×10 outdoor rug fits perfectly under our patio table with six chairs.
Last year we added a wooden gazebo to our patio. This 8×10 checkered diamond rug has held up great!
