I’m not always on board with design trends, but one I am loving recently is that of vintage tree wall art. Several designers that I love have used these popular Stoffer Home Tree Tops prints in their spaces and I just love the cozy, vintage look. But the price tag… not so much. I was able to find digital prints of these vintage tree etchings on Etsy for only a few dollars each. I then had them printed and framed, all for less than the cost of one designer print. If you would recreate this designer look on a budget, keep reading for all of the details!

Ernest Haskell’s Tree Tops Etchings
Often print shops do not credit the artist when selling vintage artwork that has entered the public domain. I did a little digging and was able to discover the artist–Ernest Haskell. The four etchings are entitled:
Haskell created these etchings between 1900-1925 which means that they have entered the public domain, and you can actually download them for free using the links above. I decided to purchase the digital prints from Etsy because they were digitally color-graded to match one another, and sized for easy printing.
Dining Room Before & Mood Board
- before
- mood board
Here is a look at our dining room before. I gave this room a makeover a few years ago for the One Room Challenge, and I’m still a huge fan of the creamy board and batten. (The color is Classic Gray by Benjamin Moore.) Still, I felt that the dining room looked a little bland and could use more character.
After I decided on the vintage tree wall art, I created a mood board using Canva to help visualize the space. I also ordered a checkered rug that I have had my eye on since it launched and will share that in a future blog post.
Budget Friendly Vintage Tree Wall Art
Here is the designer look for less! I had the vintage tree wall art printed and framed by Frame It Easy (details listed below). The total for the digital art + all four custom prints / frames was less than the cost of one Stoffer Home Tree Tops print! The artwork really cozied up our dining room and now I cannot imagine the space without it. Here are the frame details to keep in mind if you would like to recreate this look:
- Art Size: 12” x 24”
- Outside Frame Size: 15 3/16” x 27 3/16”
- Style: Hanover, in Satin Black
- Matting: 1 1/2” Herbal (White Core)
- Cover: Non-Glare Acrylic (I chose this because the room is very bright)
- Print Paper: Art
- Backing: Standard Foamcore

Have you used vintage artwork in your home? I also created a vintage art gallery wall in my office nook that inspires me each day. XO,
I love the way you’ve combined this tree wall art with the vintage dining room table. It makes for a great combination of styles, and it feels like both pieces were made for each other. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much!
Can you share where you found the grey glass vase & florals?
Thanks
Hi Kelly! The vase was from Target and no longer available, but here is a similar brown vase! The florals were from Michaels and they only carry them in the fall, but you may like these! Hope that helps 🙂
