Bright and airy coastal decor is a perfect way to refresh your home for the new year, in spite of the cold! Keep things cozy with a few moody accents and lots of layers.
Happy Tuesday friends! I hope that you are all staying warm! Today I’m sharing a little tour of our cozy coastal living room decor. Yes it is the middle of winter… but who doesn’t love to dream of the sea? One of my favorite things about coastal style is that it adds a hint of summer to your home, no matter the season. Let’s start the tour!
Crisp and Cozy Linens

To find a balance between coastal vibes and winter coziness, I’m using a combination of cream/flax/beige and true white. Best of all, I already had most of these pillow covers! You can see what a difference it made my taking a look back at our Modern Christmas Living Room. I swapped out the velvet and metallic covers for whites and stripes to create a coastal look, but kept the faux fur pillow for warmth. The dark gray and blue covers add some contrast so it’s not too bland.
Like our modern wood accent chairs? We just purchased them after I spent months hunting! Check out my roundup of 20+ Budget Accent Chairs, and my review of the chairs we chose.
Updated Shelf Decor
Basically, I can’t leave this ladder shelf alone! I usually change it around every few months, and it is one of my favorite places in our home to practice styling. After taking down our Christmas shelf decor, I added a few new pieces (the framed art and black candlesticks), and shopped our home for the rest. I wanted to keep it really simple with some books, greenery, and white vases.
Decorate With What You Love
Just a little reminder to decorate with what you love! Coastal design is my favorite, so I found ways to incorporate it even in my winter decor. I recently shared a coastal decor roundup if you love bright and airy style too! What is your favorite decor style?

The white interior makes it elegant, thanks for this idea.
