Hi sweet friends! The season of cinnamon, sweaters, and crunching leaves has arrived. This neutral living room with thrifted fall decor will inspire you to decorate with budget friendly finds and staples you already have: cozy throws, pillows, books, and baskets. So grab a cup of cocoa or coffee, relax, and come on a mini fall home tour with me.
Ladder Shelf with Thrifted Fall Decor
I recently added this bread basket to our ladder shelf–it was a Goodwill find for less than one dollar! I love the warmth that simple pieces like baskets and books bring to a room. I’m still enjoying these DIY book bundles all around our home, they are so budget friendly. And here is my post about decorating with botanical book pages.
Fall Pillow Covers
To refresh our sofa for autumn, I swapped our coastal pillow covers for a moodier palette. Earthy tones echo the hues of changing leaves, and a pop of blue mirrors a crisp, clear sky. Cozy fabrics like leather, velvet, and faux fur add warmth to our mostly neutral space. And you can never have too many blankets 😉
I’m still gathering staples for our home since we moved in less than a year ago, and this is our first fall! Pillow covers are wonderful since they can be easily washed and stored. I especially like this patterned cover that reminds me of autumn leaves. I even broke away from my love of neutrals a tiny bit with this muted blue pillow 😉
Thrifted Fall Decor Find
Recently I discovered the thrill of thrifting, and I’m loving it! I found this basket at my local Goodwill for less than three dollars and could not believe it. Now I’m on the hunt for more budget friendly treasures! I’m not sure if this basket style has a specific purpose, but it seems perfect for a pumpkin. A spray of dried baby’s breath adds a natural touch.
A Few Thoughts to Close
Photographing windows is a real challenge. I shot this room three times—but I’m learning a lot in the process, so it’s okay! In the end I left my front door hanging wide open for more light. And hoped no one came to ring the doorbell 😉 Still, thankful for the light that makes this space glow with warmth in the afternoons. I love to rest–or fold laundry–here while Bug naps.
